Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center began on March 1980 with four people in the living room of a Staten Island, New York home. Our beginning was small, but our vision to see the lost united with Christ was huge. The Voice of Faith, Pastor Demola’s weekly radio broadcast with a live call in prayer and counseling line, was heard throughout the metropolitan area and received hundreds of calls each month.
The small group outgrew the home church and FFMWOC began meeting in the basement of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. The meeting was moved to the upstairs main sanctuary after a short time due to rapid growth. With continued growth and growing complications, the decision to move to a new location was made. With no church facility available, an Elks Club was rented and services were held beneath a moose head! God was faithful as always, and remarkable growth occurred regardless of the challenges.
All the doors seemed to close for a rental or purchase on Staten Island so a new facility was sought. A former Synagogue, in Iselin, New Jersey became available and although there were not enough funds available to purchase this site, God provided. A dramatic financial miracle in the form of a $50,000 cashier’s check donated to the church closed the purchase of the new building, and FFMWOC moved from Staten Island to New Jersey. Beyond the challenges of such a move, there was rapid growth and a full time staff was added in 1983 as well as a multiple service schedule on Sundays. The Bible School (Advanced Christian Training School) now had space to grow, a dynamic worship ministry began, and many outreaches to both the local and world communities were born. Scores of people were being saved and soon, the facility that seemed so large was now too small.
In 1984 property was purchased on Oak Tree Road in Edison, New Jersey, and the planning began for a 32,000 square foot facility that was completed in May of 1985. Faith Fellowship was now one of the fastest growing churches in America and the building that seemed so large was now again, too small. While continuing to conduct overseas crusades in various countries as well a keeping up with the now growing multi-faceted local church and T.V. and media ministry schedule, a larger facility was sought. After an arduous search, a property became available and two years into the project, FFM moved its services into the 138,000 square foot building in Sayreville, NJ in the spring of 2000.
Other details of our story include Faith International Training School (FITS), which has graduated over 500 students in 75 plus nations, and developed local schools in various countries of the World. We offer a full Counseling Degree Program, and a Community Development Corporation that deals with foreclosure prevention, loan modifications and affordable housing. Ministries for every age group include Men of the Word, Victorious Women in Christ, Mentoring Programs, Faith Gen Youth, FUZE (a young adult program), and Faith Kids, a children’s church program. There are many other ministries not listed here that make FFMWOC both unique and distinct.
We are a multi-cultural, -racial, -economic and -social congregation that over 10,000 people call home, and that ministers the message of faith and the grace of God. From the worship and teaching, to the love of God among its members, FFM is now 44th on the list of America’s leading churches. It is a church committed to serving our community and the world with the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Touching the world, we also host a unique conference, IPMC (International Pastors and Ministers Conference) in which the cost for invited International Delegates is underwritten by the congregation with over 150 nations having been represented. While its past is historic, the church is convinced its future is even brighter.
