MEMBER SUPPORT SERVICE

FAITH FELLOWSHIP MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
“Connecting Believer’s to the Local Church”

OVERVIEW

C H U R C H      M E M B E R S H I P

We’re glad you’re seeking to fulfill God’s will for your life by joining yourself to a local body of believers here at Faith Fellowship Ministries. The central purpose of the church is to honor and glorify God; the central task of the church is to bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and service. Only those who have a relationship with Christ, who shares the beliefs and goals of the congregation should join. In joining FFM, believers unite with the rest of the congregation by covenant.

Members willingly commit to walk together, giving themselves to the Lord, and to one another. This covenant admits them to the privileges of the church, and in it they also place themselves under its discipline and government. If some cannot agree with us on key beliefs, they are not excluded. At Faith Fellowship Ministries, such people are invited to attend our services and receive our love and ministry.

M E M B E R S H I P      I N F O R M A T I O N

Becoming a member of Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach center is more than just a name on a roster. Each member is a vital part of our Church, enabling it to function at its potential for the glory of God. We as leaders have a responsibility to ensure that our members know that they are loved, valued and respected for their decision to be a part of God’s vision for FFMWOC. We are given the opportunity to encourage and identify the gifts and talents God has given each member to use for the furthering of the Gospel. By understanding the foundation of what it means to be a member, you will be able to better inform the people you serve, helping them to run with us, the race that is set before us.

Membership Requirements

  • Accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Complete FFM Membership Application
  • Complete FFM membership classes
  • Receive Water Baptism
  • Attend FFM Regularly
  • Support FFM Financially
  • Adhere to FFM Church Policy and Tenets of Faith

FFM Membership Classes
Membership: This class gives an overview of our Church history, organizational layout and area of service. This course material is covered in three (3) 45-minute class sessions.

  • The Church: This class teaches the difference between the Body of Christ universally and the local Church.
  • Water Baptism and Communion: This class teaches the two (2) Ordinances that Jesus gave to the Church.
  • Tenets of Faith: This class teaches what we believe and teach doctrinally and reviews our FFM Church Policy.

Membership Certificate and Card
After completing the membership requirements, the new member will receive a Certificate of Membership and a Membership card. The Membership Card Program allows FFM Members to receive discounts at our Faith Life Bookstore and FFM Conferences.

Right Hand of Fellowship
This is a special time when new FFM Members are introduced to the Pastoral Staff and the congregation of FFM. They are charged, to use their gifts and talents to the Glory of God. The congregation is then lead in a prayer of blessing over them, welcoming them publicly as a member of FFM.

Water Baptism
Baptism is made available to “all who will” to obey the New testament Ordinances as mandated by Jesus Christ Himself. FFMWOC requires that all candidates attend a class explaining the significances of Water Baptism in the life of the “believers’ prior to being baptized. Church Membership is not a requirement to be a participant. Keeping in mind, to be a FFM Member, one would have had to be baptized after receiving the Lord Jesus as Savior, not necessarily at FFM. All those who were baptized prior to receiving salvation, should plan to participate at the next Water Baptism.

Communion
As Christians, we are to remember Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the Cross by participating in the New Testament Ordinance called Communion. FFMWOC has a yearly scheduled prepared (1st Sunday each month) for when the congregation will have communion together. These dates are subject to change or be added to at Pastor’s discretion.

Weddings
Those interested in having their wedding at FFMWOC may request a Wedding packet from the Wedding Department. We have available a Wedding Coordinator to help in the preparations of the BIG day. To be married at FFMWOC, at least one of the individuals must be a FFMWOC Member. The couple has the opportunity to request a particular minister but must include additional choices if the desired one is not available on the day of the wedding.

Parent/Child Dedication
Parent/Child dedication is a public declaration of the parent’s commitment to God to raise their children in a manner that will allow God to establish His Covenant in their family. This is a scripturally based class instructing the parents in their responsibilities as stewards of the young lives. Because parents teach as much by example as by what they say, their live-style matters. Parent/Child dedication Forms must be completed and approved before an invitation to the Parent/Child Dedication Class given. If an application is not approved, the focus then turns to the restoration of the parents.

Visitation to the Sick or Shut-In
This department provides visitation for those in a hospital, nursing home or shut-in situation. Requests should be given to the Visitation department at (732-727-9500 x 1127) by the person in need or their immediate family if the one in need cannot communicate. The Ministers, Elders and Deacons located in that area are contacted with the information needed to minister to them.

Finding Your Place in the Ministry
This ministry provides assistance to find the most efficient place of service according to your unique God-given talents and abilities. These classes are for members of FFMWOC and the "Road" graduates. The class will be given in three one hour sessions. It provides you the opportunity to meet representatives of different departments you may be interested in.

Funerals
When a FFM Member or a member of their Immediate Family dies, the Member, or a Family Member needs to do two (2) things:

  1. Contact and inform the FFM C.A.R.E. Ministry at (732) 727-9500 ext. 1300.
  2. Contact and inform the Area Director in their Area Fellowship Ministry area. The Area Director’s phone number can be found in the “Area Fellowship Directory”. Their information should include the following:
    • Name
    • Phone Number
    • Brief Message of Details
  3. If calling after office hours, they will need to call the Area Director as stated above, but instead of calling the C.A.R.E. Ministry, they would need to call the “Emergency Prayer Hotline” number. The “Hotline Staff” will contact the C.A.R.E. Ministry Department Head, who in turn will return their call.

Bible Guidance and Prayer Support
A person in need of Prayer may call the Church Office during regular business hours, (M-F, 8:00AM – 4:00PM), and a Staff Minister will be available to minister to them.

Prayer Hotline
If a person is in need of Emergency Prayer and our offices are closed, they can call our “Emergency Prayer Hotline”, and someone will return their call.
See the "Emergency Prayer Hotline" number at the left side of this page.

Volunteer Workers
Members, who have completed "The Road Program" or F.I.T.S. Program, are eligible to fill out a Worker’s Application for the department they want to serve in. The Department Head witnesses their signature on the completed application, signs it and submits it to Church Administration for consideration. Training and scheduling the “Volunteer Worker” is the responsibility of the Department Head.

Volunteers Congregants who wish to volunteer their time and abilities to the Church during regular business hours can do so by:

  1. Completing a Volunteer Form at the Information Center, or
  2. Call the Volunteer Coordinator at the Church at (732) 727-9500 ext. 1405 with the following information:
    • Name
    • Address
    • Phone Number
    • Availability

The Volunteer Coordinator will notify them as to when there is a need for volunteers for a special event or task.

Come join us and experience God's amazing grace !
